Admission Testing Optional
Higher education has been changed in so many ways as a result of the pandemic. Whether these changes are positive or negative can be debated but they are significant for sure. Testing requirements have been a point of debate and discussion for years. During the pandemic, university systems made SAT and ACT testing optional for admission.
The University System of Maryland recently voted to no longer require SAT or ACT scores. They decided to try test-optional admissions during Covid, and have decided to stay test-optional.
The State University of New York will remain test optional through summer 2024. So for students entering their senior year, SAT/ACT scores will be optional for Fall 2023 admissions.
