Common App Opens

The Common App opens today for the 2023-2024 school year. For me, it represents the beginning of the college application season where seniors who are headed to college begin the process. The Common App is the most widely used way to apply to colleges and allows students to create a list of up to 20 colleges they are interested in applying to and provides all the information on what is required to apply.

It is August and college applications may not be first on a list of things to do, and it's not necessary to get right on the site now. I recommend using December 15th as the final deadline. But it is time for students to start making lists of their extracurricular activities, start thinking about what they will include in their college essay, and making some decisions about what types of schools and majors they are interested in.
